- Open Outlook
- Create a new email message
- Enter the following information into your email message for your fax:
- In the ‘To…’ field enter the fax number in the following format: 10-digit fax number @fax.nic.edu (ex: 2087691235@fax.nic.edu)
- Subject – the subject line will be the title of the fax listed on the cover sheet
- Message – any text entered into the body of the email will appear in the ‘Comments’ section at the bottom of the cover sheet.
- Attachment – the document you attach will become the actual pages of the fax that print out behind the cover sheet (Note: attachment MUST be in one of the following three formats: PDF, Microsoft Word, or Microsoft Excel).
- Click ‘Send’ to send the fax
- Once your fax has been sent you will receive one of two fax notifications:
- Successful – you will receive an email with “Fax Sent to…..” along with a copy of the cover sheet and fax.
- Failed – you will receive an email with “An error occurred while sending to……” message that will include why the fax failed.
